Spanish red tape, shredded.
Less paperwork. More meow.
Bureaucat is a desktop app for people living in Spain who read English, not administrativo. It reads your letters from the tax office, Social Security, the town hall and your kids' school, explains each one in plain English, and keeps every deadline in one place.
- Save hundreds on your gestor. Most of the routine, boring questions you pay your gestor for (what does this letter mean, when is this due, what do I send, can you write to them for me) are answered on your screen, for €60.49 a year (€49.99 + IVA). Keep your gestor for the things that really need one.
- Never miss a letter. It checks your official inboxes with your own digital certificate and counts down the 10 days before an unopened notification counts as delivered.
- Understand it in seconds. Every notice explained in plain English: who sent it, what they want, when it's due.
- Reply with confidence. Drafts in correct administrative Spanish, with a full English translation before anything is sent.
- Just ask the cat. "What do I have outstanding?" or "Write to my accountant asking for help with my tax return": the assistant looks it up in your own data and drafts the email for you to check and send.
- Private by design. Everything stays on your computer. No account, no cloud, nothing shared.

Case study · a real small business in Spain
They paid their gestor €7,000 in a year, and still lost money to letters nobody opened.
Two self-employed owners and a small company with a few staff. A good gestor on a monthly fee, plus extras on top: about €22 a payslip, €70 each time someone registered as self-employed, €150 for an appeal letter. The extras came to about half the monthly fees again.
What slipped through
- A €92 tax payment failed. The notice went unread, the bill became €110 with a 20% surcharge, and the tax office took it straight from the bank.
- Self-employed contributions went unpaid for three months. The owner didn't even know they were registered. €823 became €1,000.
- A company Social Security payment bounced. €1,328 became €1,603, and the account was seized.
- When they changed accountants, nobody checked the official inboxes for six weeks.
With Bureaucat, each of those letters would have appeared on their screen the day it arrived, in plain English: what happened, how much, and how many days before the surcharge. There's a draft reply ready, and the gestor is kept for the work that really needs a professional.
At €60.49 a year, Bureaucat pays for itself the first time it catches one surcharge.
Real figures from one business's own invoices and official notices, rounded, shared with permission. Names withheld. The gestor's professional work wasn't the problem; the letters nobody saw in time were.
